This April 7th, the Swedish widely read web media Dixikon published an exhaustive article (readable in a bit less than 10 minutes for Swedish speakers) about Keiichiro Hirano, where they address him as one of Japan’s foremost writers.

Keiichiro Hirano’s name figures next to pillars or Japanese literature, such as Sôseki Natsume, Yasunari Kawabata, Yukio Mishima and Haruki Murakami, where he is said to move within the genre of jun bungaku (literally “pure literature”) with a philosophical undertone and create a Japanese worlds of thoughts within descriptions of Western environments.

Novels such as “Eclipse”, “A Man” or “At the End of the Matinee” are being showcased, while towards the end subtly hinting at the screen adaptation of “A Man”, actually praised around the globe.
